(CONT.)....5) to CAPE in a grade that features A and B program, they may not even do testing on you, you may automatically go into the B program. On top of this total idiocy of a program, the classes are even merged! Grade 6/7/8A are merged, and you will not believe this one. There is a classroom merged with Grade 7B, 8B, 9B, and 9A!! What kind of bs is this, why are the 9Bs doing grade 8 curriculum, why are there 4 grades in one classroom, and why can't it just be normal classes? The superintendent can argue that the school was meant for kids with special learning abilities, and merging classes and teaching them different curriculums is beneficial. however it is clearly not working, as mostly every 9B who is learning special curriculum is failing.

This school prides itself on having the nicest teachers, but frankly it just isn't true. The school is a disaster, ranging from its merged classes (why the hell is Grade 6,7,8 merged and grade 8,9 also merged??) to the small, dangerous gym size, to the terrible teachers. This one teacher is known to ramble on for 30 minutes about her personal life, her ex boyfriends and why she hates/loves particular things. When class time finishes, that teacher blames it on the students for wasting time, while she doesn't realize it was her wasting everybody's time, including herself's. Also the 5 star reviews are from teachers at the school who have the biggest bias and don't understand what the kids are actually feeling at the school. Now, I have one question for every teacher at Cape school: do u kno da wai?

    4) A growing problem in our school is the facility's safety and overall handling. What do you think of when you find out that around the late 2000s, there was a non-activated BOMB in our school's toilet? How about the crack in the wall near the gym door? How about at the bottom of the staircase, there is a stair that can literally be ripped off because of how badly handled it's been. Now, think of the worst of this. Our school gym is so small, and the walls are legitimately BRICKS. What if your child was doing laps or sprinting, and someone tripped him? He would actually get knocked out, a concussion, or maybe even worse if he hit his head on those hard bricks. The sad truth is that this has actually happened, a sad parent had to get his own kid diagnosed with a concussion at this school. Several safety measures need to be taken, but sadly aren't due to how broke/lazy the school board really is.

    3) Now, lets talk about an external problem in our school. The parking outside SUCKS. It is just one lane where you park beside the sidewalk and that its it. When you come to drop your child off at school at 8:40, you will experience tight, jampacked cars, and you will have to park near houses. Most people are tired of this, so they double park instead just to drop their kids off for 5 seconds. The school makes a fuss about this. One day, we had double parked because there was no space, and the principle LITERALLY comes up to us and says that double parking is not allowed... what do you expect us to do then, when the whole street is flooded with cars trying to park everywhere?? We still double-park to this day, because it is something that everybody does.

    2) Yellow Slips. This category could have been also correlated with the first one as it is the bad teachers' main weapon against kids. Basically, since the teachers are too pure and special to deal with troublesome kids one-on-one, they just hand them yellow slips. These sheets of yellow paper ask the child what you did wrong, why you did it, so on and then it's signed by the teacher. It is given to the office, and they "call" your parents about the issue. However, the office rarely calls parents, despite the sheet telling you. If the school is going to fund these yellow slips so much, why not be fully committed to them then? Now, I am usually a good student, but when I was in Grade 7, I whispered to my friend one time and I got a yellow slip... These yellow sheets LITERALLY ask you about 3 offenses you committed in class, but my teacher loved them so much she gave one to me with no warning, nothing. These teachers rely on the yellow slips too much, and the kids at this point don't even care if they get one due to the over-saturation of slips they get.

    6) Now, let's start a new, disgusting topic. This is about the overall cleanliness, and the ideal bathroom. The washrooms in this school are pure filthy. The urnals do not flush sometimes, the toilets overflow, and human feces can be seen on the floor. Once, the soap ran out and a kid asked the office for more soap. What did they reply? They said that the boys had lost the PRIVELGE for soap! Boys have lost the privelege to clean themselves before they eat food and touch other people! I'm not surprised a lot of kids are sick at this school, with the terrible living conditions.

    7) The office acts nice around adults, but with kids they are some of the rudest people in the school. I am mainly talking about the front desk. Once, I came to the office to get more tissue boxes for my class. The desk lady stared at me and said with a blank soul, "sure... go ahead...". I pick up 3 boxes, since my class has 4 grades in it, and she says to me, "only two, [name], oooonnnly two." I say something like "oh sorry" and she just says "alright". She had the blankest face ever!

I was in the “A” class consisting of grade 6,7,8 students. Back when I was in Cape and we did the grade 8 curriculum when I was in grade 7. The “B” class at the time was doing the grade 7 curriculum with a class that consisted with students from grade 7 and 8. The “A” and “B” classes are absolutely unnecessary because we did the grade 8 science and social curriculum and grade 7 math, all we did for L.A was spelling tests. But the next year the “A” class would be doing the grade 7 curriculum in grade 8 and the “B” class would be doing the grade 8 curriculum. I left Cape at the end of grade 7 and moved to a different school but since I had already learned the grade 8 curriculum I did online school to do grade 9 Social and Science so I wouldn’t feel terribly bored in the classes I had already completed. It’s actually a smart move by Cape because they trap you into their schooling because if you leave then you’ll be screwed over like me.

    8) The school is extremely cheap. They run out of tissue boxes on a regular basis, they don't have enough paper-towels, and the basketball team is worse. The jerseys for the team were so cheap at first, CAPE had to find red gym pinnies, and tape numbers on them! Finally, they acquired proper jerseys, but practices still take place in an old, rusty, brick wall gym court with no actual basketball coach teaching us. The school's gym teacher teaches basketball after school, and you can tell he only did it for the money as he has no idea what he is even talking about. He can't shoot a basketball, he is only frankly good at leading stretches. He needs the kids to call out fouls and violations in game, since he has no idea what to do. It shows how unorganized this school is and how they just hire anybody to be a basketball teacher because they're too broke to hire a real one.

Hello, I am John Lockwood (definitely not my real name) and I would like to make possibly the biggest rant on this school, and list every flaw with it. This is gonna be a field day, isn't it? I have 8 points about this school.

    1) First off, bad teachers. A lot of teachers here are known to find cheap tests online to give to students, and to talk for 40 minutes about their personal life and ex-boyfriends. They cram you with homework, and most of the time don't explain it well enough. My class average one year for humanities was like 54! How can this be acceptable? Maybe it is the students' fault that they don't do their homework on time, but how can this be beneficial to other kids as they will be influenced, and in turn ignore homework as well! A better way has to be created for helping kids out with homework, or whatever else is on their mind.

    9) Lastly, the uniforms. The uniform act was made in the 90s, where parents in the Council voted for uniforms. To this day, uniforms are still being mandatorily worn, even though there should be a new meeting to discuss this. Before that meeting in the 90s, uniforms were not present. Now, we should have another meeting in 2018 and see the parent's opinions, since uniforms have been running for more than a decade now. But no, they refuse to actually hold another meeting to see the parents' valuable opinions.

    5) Okay, halfway done. This is about the merged classes and the A and B program. First off, this school has a program where does a so called "iQ" test on your child in Grade 3 of being at this school. In Grade 4, these A and B programs start. If your child's iQ was high enough judging from that test he took in grade 3, he will go in the A class. If its lower, he goes in the B class. Now, please think about this. From what I have heard, if your child is new to this school and comes..

I’ve had like five friends who’ve gone here and they all hate it so much. You have to wear these disgusting uniforms which don’t give children freedom to express themselves and the teachers are rude from what I’ve heard. I have a best friend, brand new to the school from September for grade Seven, he went to my elementary school last’s year and I honestly miss him. To be fair, every school Medicine Hat is pretty awful. At Alexandra you can get your parents called for sneezing but other then that it’s pretty chill. This school is just disgusting to me and I feel bad for anyone who has to go there.
